Did you know that thousands of kids in Minnesota have never paddled a canoe, hiked a trail, or even had meaningful access to the outdoors?
For many youth with disabilities, as well as urban, low-income, and BIPOC youth, barriers like transportation, cost, and lack of access to safe green spaces mean that nature feels out of reach.
Wilderness Inquiry’s Canoemobile program changes that, turning local rivers into floating classrooms where students paddle together, build confidence, and see themselves in nature, often for the very first time.
In 2025 alone, Canoemobile will connect over 30,000 people in 50+ communities nationwide with the joy of paddling and the power of community.
Why Donate To Wilderness Inquiry?
For nearly 50 years, Wilderness Inquiry has been a national leader in outdoor inclusion. We have trained staff, trusted partnerships, and proven programs to ensure that every participant, regardless of background or ability, feels safe, supported, and inspired in the outdoors.
Here’s the truth: none of this happens without donors like you. Every paddle, life vest, bus ride, and scholarship is powered by the generosity of people like you. And right now, major funding cuts mean we can’t keep up with demand without your support.
On Give to the Max Day, we need to raise $7,500 to bring this floating classroom to as many students as possible this school year.
With your gift, whether it’s $5, $50, or more, you can make sure kids in your community experience the confidence, joy, and belonging that comes from connecting with the outdoors.
When you give, you’re not just funding a canoe ride. You’re helping a young person see themselves in nature, sometimes for the very first time. Together, we’ll make the outdoors a place where everyone belongs.
