Creating Classrooms Where Every Child Belongs

When I came to this country as an immigrant, I felt like an outsider for many years—until the warmth and support of my Minnesotan neighbors welcomed my family wholeheartedly into their social circles, making us truly feel at home in the community. That simple act showed me the transformative power of belonging.

For a long time, I thought belonging was primarily an immigrant issue. But after 16 years of working across organizations, education sectors, and age groups, it’s clear: belonging is universal. We’ve all, at some point, felt like we didn’t belong—and it’s even more challenging when you’re the minority in the room to feel belonged! 

At AmazeWorks, we invest in the next generation by creating classrooms where every child feels seen, heard, and valued—so they don’t just belong, they thrive. I am deeply passionate about helping our future generation experience this sense of belonging, and I am proud to support AmazeWorks in making it happen. In today’s climate, this work is more important than ever, yet funding is limited.
