Waigwa's One Voice Fundraiser

At One Voice Mixed Chorus, I believe deeply in the transformative power of music to build community, foster inclusion, and amplify the voices that need to be heard most. As Minnesota’s largest and most vibrant LGBTQIA+ and straight‐ally chorus, we carry a legacy of singing for justice, for joy, and for each other. That legacy is something I’m honored to steward.

Why One Voice?

We are the only mixed-gender, intergenerational, BIPOC-led chorus in Minnesota - and one of the very few like it in the whole country. Our leadership, our singers, and our stories reflect the communities we come from. As a BIPOC, queer, and trans-led ensemble, we bring those identities to the forefront of our music-making, not as a footnote but as the heart of who we are.

We don’t just sing together. We choose music that’s diverse, powerful, and rooted in telling stories that matter. Our rehearsals become spaces for conversation, connection, curiosity, and growth - places where we practice the world we want to see.

What We Need

To continue doing this work at the level our community deserves, we need to raise $24,000. These funds will support the projects on our horizon — collaborations we’re excited about, initiatives that deepen our mission, and the behind-the-scenes work that sustains us.

And we’re dreaming big. We want to expand our performances, build larger partnerships, and even launch a second chorus to meet the rising demand for what One Voice offers. To get there, we need more staff capacity, more resources, and the support of people who believe in our mission as much as we do.
