One Voice Mixed Chorus

A nonprofit organization

One Voice has always been about more than our amazing concerts.

At its heart, our work is about bringing people together and inspiring social change. Our mission of ‘building community and creating social change by raising our voices in song’ is more relevant today, than ever before. Here’s how One Voice has been showing up:

Virtual Choirs:

Although it’s not the same as in-person singing, these projects have kept our members and our audiences engaged and connected during the pandemic. We’ve reached thousands of new audience members through expanded digital engagement.

Sound Mind:

Sound Mind is an original podcast—and One Voice’s first--where queer voices in Minnesota explore mental health through art. Episodes feature different LGBTQ artists sharing their journey through the intersections of identity, adversity, and self-expression. Sound Mind is available now!

Monday Night Live!

Our members have continued to meet virtually every Monday night— yes, every single Monday!— in place of our traditional weekly rehearsals: for skills training, rehearsing for upcoming performances, conversations on equity and engagement, and supporting each other during COVID. While you can see everyone on screen, between 70-100 singers attend each week.

Bring The Sing
One Voice partnered with Minnesota Public Radio last spring to coordinate a series of statewide sing-a-longs that had people around the world sing from their porches on special Friday evenings! MPR provided a simulcast of the songs on each of their regional services. Carole King even tweeted about it!

Community Sing-A-Longs

Throughout the year we have hosted different community gatherings, open to anyone and everyone. Our singers’ friends and family join from Minnesota and around the world, as well as new singers  seeking community and an opportunity to use their voices.
