On March 10th, 2023, we lost our sister/daughter Jennifer Yang through the actions of her partner. She was only 36 years old and they had three young children. Jennifer lived in Anoka County where Alexandra House, a non-profit working to end domestic violence, is located. While Jennifer was not able to utilize Alexandra House's services when she was alive, Alexandra House has been there for us since day one of Jennifer's murder from showing up to the sheriff's office to holding space with us at her candlelight vigil. We are grateful for organizations like Alexandra House and hope together, we can prevent another 'Jennifer Yang and grieving family'.

Please continue to read more about this important event and organization. We hope you will consider donating. Thank you.

See you on September 30th, 2023. Register for the event here!

HopeFest is one of Alexandra House’s signature events that raises awareness about domestic and sexual violence – while raising funds for Alexandra House. The core principles of the event are to raise awareness about domestic and sexual violence, remember those we have lost, and honor the many survivors. In the months leading up to HopeFest, teams and individuals raise funds to help Alexandra House achieve its mission to empower victims of domestic and sexual violence, and inspire social change, through education, support, and advocacy.

Domestic and sexual violence affects millions of people and their families worldwide, regardless of country or culture. In Minnesota alone, the statistics are alarming, with nearly a third of women and a quarter of men experiencing intimate partner violence in their lifetime. The impact of this violence is not only emotional but also financial, resulting in a loss of productivity and earnings worth billions of dollars.

However, there is hope. Alexandra House has been providing essential support to survivors and their families for 46 years, empowering them and inspiring social change through education, support, and advocacy. Their services are available to anyone affected by domestic and sexual violence, including children who require safety, support, and guidance. Alexandra House's work not only helps victims find a way out of violence but also out of poverty and homelessness. With locations in Blaine, Andover, and Anoka, Alexandra House is a beacon of hope for survivors in their time of need. We offer a wide range of services, including emergency shelter, 24-hour helpline, legal advocacy, hospital advocacy, support groups, housing, and supportive services, youth services, elder abuse services, and community and professional education - all free of charge.

With your generous support...

➱ $100 would provide gas cards to cover transportation to medical and therapy appointments, support groups, and housing and legal appointments.

➱ $200 ensures each resident’s personal needs are cared for their during their stay.

➱ $500 allows an advocate to support a victim through the process of filing for an order for protection.

➱ $1,000 offers one survivor a new life with assistance for their first month’s rent and security deposit on a new, safe apartment for themselves and their child(ren).

Thank you,
