Alison's Story
Alexandra House is working to end domestic and sexual violence. Your gift will significantly impact the lives of victims/survivors in crises who turn to us for safety, hope, and support. Your donation will help to provide safe shelter, food, basic needs, and the supportive services needed to heal, grow, and overcome barriers to self-sufficiency.
OUR MISSION: To empower victims of domestic and sexual violence, and inspire social change, through education, support, and advocacy.
OUR VISION: Alexandra House envisions a world where abuse and violence are unacceptable.
Alexandra House provides domestic, sexual, and relationship violence services to women, men, youth, and families. We are located in the cities of Blaine, Andover, and Anoka, but serve victims/survivors of domestic, sexual, and relationship violence across Minnesota. All services are free of charge and include the following:
OUR SERVICES INCLUDE:
· 24-Hour Helpline
· 24-Hour Emergency Shelter
· Support Groups
· Legal Advocacy and support
· Hospital Advocacy
· School support services
· Classroom and community presentations
· Housing and Supportive Services (including transitional housing)
· Elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation services
· Basic needs and food shelf
· A clothing and household goods donation center
We are the only comprehensive provider of domestic, sexual, and elder abuse services in Anoka County. For over 46 years, we have fostered partnerships with law enforcement, hospitals, schools, local governments, and businesses to change the conversation and misunderstandings about domestic, sexual, dating, and elder abuse. These relationships, and our broader community, are indispensable to our work.
