Zoey's crew fundraiser for FSMN

Our story started when I brought a student home when teaching 7th grade,  their home life was pretty rough. He stayed with us for about 4 months. After he left, I knew I wanted to start fostering.  We have been fostering for 10 years now and multiple children have come in and out of our home. We were fortunate enough to have one child become family and stay.  We met Zoey when she was 3 weeks old,  we watched her when I did respite for a friend.  Fast forward 6 months and we were asked if we wanted to be her forever family.   That sweet girl has completed our family.  My heart was still being pulled toward fostering. 

Each child that has come into our home has changed our lives for the better. Just the other day I was volunteering at Abundant Goods.  I was working in the back room while another volunteer was helping people shop.  I heard my name called by a young man.  I looked up and saw my first ever foster son.  We had lost touch for a couple of years. We immediately embraced each other, and cried tears of joy.  I asked him what he was doing there. He explained he works for an organization that helps teen foster children, he had brought a teenager to shop for clothing.   I couldn't believe it, this once lost, scared teenager i had in my home is now helping other kids in need.  He said he wanted to help the kids the way I helped him.  My heart was full that evening, reaching out t him every couple of weeks to see how he is.

The one thing I know is that I wouldn't be able to foster without the support of Foster Together. The people who are apart of FT have become family. This organization has helped cloth my foster kiddos, held events for them, training for foster parents and the most importantly, they have listened and been a friend.  I don't feel alone on this journey.  I have my people/support that I can call up at any moment and they help out or listen. We share our joy together and grieve together.  The people I have met through Foster Together will always have a special place in my heart.  It is mind blowing to think I have made such a large impact in a kids life.  It doesn't matter if it is for 1 day or a year. Then to think if it wasn't for Foster Together I don't think I would be fostering.  

Please consider donating to this amazing organization.   Even if it 5 dollars it will be used to help the kids that have done nothing wrong, deserve more than the hand that was dealt to them.  It will also help this community out, through events and trainings.
