Our Plan:

The Minneapolis ECFE Parents Council is creating community events and packets aimed at families with children 0-5 to highlight a culture found  in the Twin Cities. With community help, we aim to create immersive cultural experiences for  families with young children, while supporting local artists and businesses. Packets will include varying  guides for families to engage in with their children. Some examples are  scavenger hunts,  coloring sheets, recipes, book lists for children and/or a list of reading materials for adults to continue learning after the event is over.

Funds to Be Used For:

  • Hiring a consultant from the community to develop an immersive learning experience 4x a year to include: Discussion guides, scavenger hunts, coloring sheets, maps & recommended reading materials.
  • Printing costs for the kits that will be distributed to families
  • Cover admission costs if applicable for participants
  • Book Dedication to another family. On the Culture Activity Packet: Native American, we are raising funds to donate the book "Fry Bread". The book is $13 at Target and $19 at Birchbark. If you are donating for this, please add in the dedication "Fry Bread" so we can keep the donations allocated correctly. Thank you in advance!

Our first immersive learning event to be held in the Fall of 2020 and focusing on Native American culture here in Minnesota, this event has changed to packet form due to COVID-19.
