Who are we?

We are TIGERRS! Our mission is to fill critical gaps in resources and direct services for the transgender, intersex and gender-expansive communities in the Twin Cities. You can check out more info on our website!

We are grateful to be fiscally sponsored by Family Tree Clinic.

What are we up to?

Youth programs! Teen TIGERs (ages 13-20), meets weekly and is currently online. Little TIGERs (ages 0-12), meets monthly and is on hiatus during COVID. Here's why we think these programs are pretty cool:

Social support!

  • Rather than a traditional support group, our adult facilitators collaborate with our youth participants to create a community of peers that share experiences of marginalization, solidarity and hope.
  • Our programs offer a unique space where young people can freely express their identity, meet new people, talk about anything and access crucial resources.

Youth leadership!

  • While we always have trans, intersex and/or gender-expansive adult facilitators, our youth lead the programs.
  • They pick their own activities, resolve their own conflicts (under supervision), welcome new youth into the programs and define the rules and boundaries of the space.

Accessibility!

  • Our organization is founded by and built to include disabled and neurodivergent people as well as low-income people.
  • Our program space is ADA accessible, we ban fragrances, we collaboratively determine how we communicate and our programs are always free to attend (we cover the cost of all activities when needed, no questions asked).

Innovative and unique!

  • To our knowledge, we provide the only youth-led, consistent social programs for transgender, intersex and gender-expansive kids and teens in Minnesota.

What will your donation do?

TIGERRS is a volunteer-run organization, so your generous donation will go directly to our youth programs and help fund things like:

  • Ongoing:
    • Help with program access (for example: buying Minecraft for youth)
    • Art and craft supplies
    • Science projects
    • Snacks
  • During the pandemic:
    • Shipping supply and care packages
    • Face masks
  • After the pandemic:
    • Stipending guest facilitators (for example: martial arts teachers)
    • Field trips
    • Camping trips

Our goal is to raise $2500, which will fully fund our youth programs for all of 2021.

And as an extra bonus: at certain donation levels, you'll be entered into a drawing! To thank you for your support, we'll send some extremely cool TIGERRS stuff to a few lucky donors.

(If you want to opt out of the drawing, there's an option during the checkout process.)
