"We need to stop just pulling people out of the river.

We need to go upstream and find out WHY they're falling in."

                              Desmond Tutu

Please consider investing in our community and help us continue our journey "upstream" as we press on to promote mental wellness.

Our mental health does not suddenly get well when a virus leaves our body. Individual struggles are not individual and we have our best mental wellness when communities work together.

We can socialize by a kind word, kind eye contact, and a kind gesture, all while social distancing. We know this is crucial from our own personal struggles.  Embracing those struggles communicates understanding, empathy, and resiliency.

The Heart and Mind Connection, is Minnesota's peer-run, veteran and woman-owned 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to mental health and substance use recovery, advocacy, and education. Our mission is to develop connection, foster purpose and empower ourselves and others struggling with hope, through education, suicide prevention programming and legislative activism.

We work side by side with many  non-profits working towards the same goal!

During the COVID-19 pandemic, our Certified Peers are volunteering to speak with individuals and their families in crisis.  We share community resources, connections and most importantly the ability to embrace HOPE.
