By making a donation to the SAPCC General Operations Fund, you'll help support our day-to-day operations and help pay for our staff. The SAPCC Staff organizes the community, supports Committee and Board initiatives, and works with the other District Councils to help better the system, crossing community boarders to ensure democracy through increased effectiveness.
SAPCC hosts five standing committees to facilitate community engagement: Land Use, Environment, Transportation, Equity and Finance. Over 30 volunteers are key to these essential civic bodies, which meet at least monthly and are often engaged in additional program work. We have been very active in the past 18 months. A partial listing of these activities is listed as follows:
- Collaborated with Towerside District in Minneapolis to develop Unified Development Guidelines to promote consistent guidelines for these two adjacent communities;
- Meetings with Luther Seminary and the developers to promote effective housing development while minimizing loss of trees in Breck Woods and minimizing traffic disruption in the community resulting from increased population density;
- Hosting meetings with Luther Seminary and the community to promote community input into the housing development plans;
- Hosted Annual Kasota Ponds clean-up;
- Active opposition to the semi truck trailer parking near the Kasota Ponds;
- Organized local students for Rain Garden Clean Up;
- Co-hosted "Stop For Me" pedestrian safety event;
- Co-hosted Ward 4 Renter’s Summit;
- Organized annual community dinner at Seal High Rise;
- Donated over 1000 lbs. of food from the Community Garden to Seal High Rise;
