We are so grateful for your contributions! Yesterday we served 75 meals & 75 snacks in about an hour in an impromptu popup.
Seems as though our organization has been impacted by so much simply because of who we are, what we do and the population we serve.... A pandemic forced our already struggling students out of school, then kept us from gathering to tutor or feed them. Finally, while COVID-19 began to spread disproportionately among frontline workers... along comes comes the George Floyd tragedy and we are just in disbelief!
Fortunately, we have learned to adapt. We are resilient! We have the support of a great community! Once again, every single family we serve is impacted. We realized that we must continue to stand with our partners and provide access to those basic necessities that can’t be easily accessed right now. Things that others might take for granted.
FOOD is a basic necessity. Everyone has the right to EAT!
No one ever thought our most popular photo of the year would include chicken, vegetables, pasta, fruit, bread and the like. But since February 15th, COVID-19 has changed the landscape of our community! It derailed our regular programming and turned our focus towards a community of food insecurity. Now at each opening, we distribute more than 300 meals, plus snacks, and some grocery items to Youth and Senior Citizens- those most affected by COVID. In the last month alone, we have served 1,508+ meals and snacks through our Grab n Go Café. Please join in supporting this worthy cause!
