We want to keep giving our adaptive athletes that chance they deserve. We want to keep providing them with the opportunity to train and compete at the highest levels, and to show the world what they are capable of. Lions United is requesting operational support to guarantee that our lions will always have a home.

Hello Minnesota!

As you may already know, there are many different types of disabilities, and each one comes with its own unique challenges. However, that doesn't mean that people with disabilities can't lead active and healthy lives. There are many different ways to adapt fitness activities to meet the needs of people with disabilities, and there is also a specialized gym that with adapted exercises that cater to this population. With a little bit of creativity and determination, anyone can find a way to get fit, no matter what their limitations may be.

Welcome to Lions United Fitness Center

Lions United Fitness Center is Minnesota's first inclusive coaching facility designed to enhance the lives of individuals of all abilities. When you hear terms like Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder or TBI, automatically the word "Disability" comes to mind. At Lions United, Coach Andy has a different mindset.  He sees these as strengths, not weaknesses, and he teaches his lions how to use these strengths to empower themselves to be the best version of themselves.  It's not just about becoming more fit or bettering an athlete's skills for a Special Olympics sport. Aside from the various training programs that Coach Andy provides, he also instills several positive character traits in his Lions such as attitude, motivation, leadership, following directions, sportsmanship, and gratitude. Building confidence and courage are two major components of his coaching as well. Coach Andy wants to see you not just evolve as an athlete but as a person. It takes courage to develop yourself, and if Coach Andy could do anything, he would walk into everyone's life and breathe courage into their lives. And courage is a result of confidence. You have never seen a courageous person who didn't have confidence. Coach Andy demonstrates that human potential is of no measurable limit. It can go as far as you desire or as far as you have the courage to walk. 












We Are Building More Than Just Muscles

At Lions United, we are so much more than just a fitness center. Many of you have been told what is impossible for you. Coach Andy gives you the courage to live the life you were destined to live. He helps you realize that you have a purpose, that there is something greater that you came here to do. That you signed up for something other than just to fit in and go along and follow someone else's rules. A lot of us don't allow ourselves to listen to those internal callings. Coach Andy will manifest how to use your willpower, to change direction. You don't have to keep doing what you've been doing for the past six years if it's not yielding what you want. To change direction, we have to change, and that starts with learning how to invest more time in yourself. Everybody wants to change the world, but what they don't realize is that to change the world, they, have to change first. Coach Andy is going to teach you how to put everything you've got into everything that you do. 

Physical fitness has many benefits, both in and out of the gym. For one, it can help reduce the risk of developing chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. Fitness can teach us a lot more than just being physically fit. It can also teach us discipline, how to set goals, and how to push ourselves to reach those goals. All of these are important life skills that can help us in every area of our lives. With regular exercise, we can also improve our mental and emotional health. Fitness can be a great way to reduce stress, improve our mood, increase our overall sense of well-being, lifespan, and promote healthy sleep habits. Furthermore, those who are physically fit are more likely to be able to perform well at work or school and to lead active, enjoyable lifestyle.
