Here’s your chance to support our community’s youth and get a delicious gift from Cookie Cart and CAA: Donate $25 or more by October 4, and you’ll get one dozen vegan sugar-sprinkle cookies...the newest flavor in Cookie Cart’s cookie collection!

Help us reach our stretch goal of $3,000 to pay for a full year's worth of cookies and partial support of Tamuno's work with youth. A recurring monthly gift of any amount brings cookies to your door!

Cookie Cart is a youth employment program in the Twin Cities that provides teens 15 to 18 years old with meaningful work, life, and leadership skills through paid work experience and training.

Compassionate Action for Animals (CAA) encourages people to embrace their empathy for animals and move towards a plant-based diet. In 2017, we made a commitment to meeting the needs of specific communities within the Twin Cities. In 2019, we got seed funding for a new community organizer position, and hired Tamuno Imbu.

When COVID-19 hit, youth told Cookie Cart leaders that they wanted to explore ways to adopt healthier lifestyles. CAA’s Tamuno Imbu reached out to help, forming a partnership and introducing the teens to the world of plant-based living. Tamuno provided online plant-based cooking courses (and free ingredients for youth to participate), trauma response support in the wake of the police murder of George Floyd, and a broader context to plant-based eating through an online farm-sanctuary tour and screening of the movie, The Invisible Vegan, which focuses on veganism in the African-American community.

Having learned the benefits of a vegan lifestyle, Cookie Cart decided to launch a new plant-based sugar sprinkle cookie!

We need your help to keep this partnership flourishing. Your gift will support:

*Production of the new cookie, whose sales benefit youth employment.

*Continued plant-based cooking education for teens, and discussion of the benefits for both personal and animal well-being.

*Engagement with accessible, affordable, and delicious plant-based cooking options throughout the Twin Cities.

Please consider joining our circle of care by making a monthly donation. You’ll keep cookies in production and provide vital support for our work to make plant-based eating accessible and appealing to all in our community. All circle of care members will get their cookies delivered to their door!
