myTalk 107.1 has partnered with Canine Inspired Change in support of the #BettyWhiteChallenge

Although we had to say goodbye to beloved actress Betty White just weeks before her 100th birthday, she left behind a legacy of animal rights activism which has inspired the #BettyWhiteChallenge where people around the world are encouraged to donate to animal related charities on her birthday, January 17th.

Join myTalk 107.1 to support local organization Canine Inspired Change and help us honor funny-woman and animal-lover Betty White!

Do Good With Your Dog!

Canine Inspired Change (CIC) partners with schools and organizations to facilitate therapy dog sessions with vulnerable youth and adults to overcome trauma, social struggles and isolation by sparking meaningful connections with dogs, volunteers and each other.

Their program focuses on prosocial experiences for all people guided by therapy dogs.

They offer dog training classes that strengthen your relationship with your dog and give you the opportunity to become a CIC therapy dog volunteer team.

Their volunteer teams are made up of ordinary dog-owners who want to make an impact in their community - You Matter!

Sometimes rescue dogs come to them with anxiety and in giving them a purpose they see a transformation into a calmer, confident dog who is now an asset to our community.

One such dog is Wallace!

Wallace was adopted from the Animal Humane Society in February of 2014. All we know is that he had been at AHS for a few weeks and prior to that he was at a shelter in Missouri. He was terribly underweight, shy, and nervous. During our initial meeting Wallace leaned into my husband and we knew he was coming home with us.

It took some time for Wallace to adjust to his new life. He was fearful of everything! With some time and patience his goofy, sweet demeanor appeared.

During our Level 1 obedience classes with Danielle Graczyk at the Canine Coach, Danielle mentioned that Wallace had potential as a social-emotional therapy dog with her nonprofit, Canine Inspired Change.

Being a CIC Therapy Dog has provided Wallace with a job he loves! He gets so excited every time we pull up to a school and he’s always eager to work with anyone who is willing to give him some treats and belly rubs. The work he does with CIC has helped him become a loving, confident dog.
