Five years ago, we said yes to foster care without knowing exactly what that would look like. Since then, 36 children have come through our home, some for a night, some for months, and some who’ve become woven into our lives in lasting ways.
We’re currently a household of eleven (yes, it’s as lively as it sounds!) with five kids in foster care. Each child has changed us in some way, reminding us what resilience, hope, and love look like.
Through every season, FosterTogether MN has been in our corner, showing up with clothing, meals, and encouragement, often on short notice. One of the sweetest blessings has been their celebration boxes. Whether it’s a birthday, moving out milestone, or just a “you matter” kind of day, those boxes make our kids light up. When life is busy and chaotic, those simple gifts remind them (and us) that they’re seen and celebrated.
