It can be a struggle for many high school students to determine their career path without getting to really peek inside the jobs they are considering. With Farmamerica's Jobs, Food, and You! program, we help ease the anxiety around these decisions by allowing students to get inside the work sites of several agriculture-based job opportunities and get hands-on experience to test it out. With over 320,000 Agriculture based jobs in Minnesota alone, there are plenty to choose from!
Your donation will provide high school students with a reduced admission to this 4-day job shadowing program where they will tour numerous businesses, speak with actual employees about their jobs, and try their hand at some of the daily tasks related to the jobs we explore.
Background: Jobs, Food & You! is Farmamerica's newest multi-day program for students entering grades 9 through 11. In 2022, we visited Environmental Tillage Systems, Jones Metal, Let's Dish!, UMN Southern Minnesota Research & Outreach Center, Agricultural Utilization Research Institute, Crystal Valley, Dept. of Natural Resources, and Guardian Energy. With your help, we aim to double our attendance for this 4-day program in July 2023.
