The number of drug overdose deaths in 2021 was the highest annual number ever recorded in Minnesota due to increased opioid use. Many of us know someone who is battling with addiction to opioids and struggling to find support for their mental and physical healthcare needs. In addition to their daily struggles, stigma accompanying drug use and mental illness can create barriers to accessing proven treatments and the hope of recovery.

Hamm Clinic’s mission is to promote mental health with culturally responsive, relational care to adults, especially those facing financial barriers. Hamm Clinic offers clients a trauma-informed, culturally responsive/anti-oppressive, affordable place for individual, couple/family, and group therapy, nursing, and psychiatric services all within our Healing Together™ Model of Care. This year, we need your help to expand access to our opioid treatment program. The number of people impacted by addiction disorders is increasing, and the impact of people struggling with opioid use creates staggering effects across our community (https://www.health.state.mn.us/news/pressrel/2022/drugod071422.html). The Hamm Clinic staff, with support from the Medica Foundation, have been expanding access to early assessments to get help to people engulfed by addiction and mental illness before the worst damage occurs.

$85 helps cover the costs of a single assessment for a struggling individual and can lead to further assistance for all.
