Having served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Mali, I witnessed firsthand the urgent need for educational resources across Africa. Books For Africa is making a real difference by turning donated books into powerful tools for learning, and I’m proud that through my 18 years at Better World Books, we’ve been able to support their incredible mission.

This Give to the Max Day, I’m raising funds to support a project close to my heart: creating a new library for Somalia’s Ministry of Defence. This initiative will provide books on leadership, governance, and peacebuilding to officers and trainees dedicated to rebuilding their country after decades of conflict. By donating, you’ll help equip a new generation of Somali leaders with the knowledge and tools they need to strengthen peace, stability, and national unity.
