Safety and Communication

Anew Dimension Child Enrichment Center is an early childhood education program that invites children to imagine with adults the endless possibilities of sharing and developing gifts and talents in a creative arts community.  

Anew Dimension Child Enrichment Center has been helping children reach their full potential since 1969.  We are a nonprofit, NAEYC accredited child enrichment program, serving economically and culturally diverse children and families in Minnesota.  We provide unique and inclusive care in a nurturing atmosphere where all cultural perspectives are valued.   Many of the children at Anew Dimension come from East African immigrant communities.  Multiple different languages are spoken and celebrated. The diversity of the families we serve is reflected in our staff and board of directors. Our highly valued staff come from a variety of backgrounds and typically stay with the program for many years.  The longevity of our staff retention is something we are proud of and a significant strength of our program. 

Safety and Communication:

Keeping children safe at Anew Dimension is and will continue to be our highest priority.  It is essential that children have a safe space that allows them to explore and play.  We have identified three important safety needs that need to be addressed.

1. New classroom door locks.  We need to install interior door locks for classrooms for emergency purposes.  This is an addition that will add both safety and peace of mind for teachers.
2. Walkie Talkies for Staff communication.  This will expand staff communication and enable staff on playgrounds and the indoor gym to better communicate with each other and the front desk.  We are also in need of a program cell phone to contact parents with long distance numbers, field trip communications, etc.
3. New concrete pathway for exiting the Toddler playground.  This will solve fire safety concerns for rolling infant evacuation cribs, as well as improved clear exits for four classrooms.  This will also provide a place for children to play, walk, ride, etc. and improve areas prone to mud or dirt near the building.

As an organization, we have found it essential to evolve with the ever transforming needs of our community and neighborhood.  Currently, rates of crime within our neighborhood have been climbing.  We want to be proactive to ensure the safety of our children and staff.

The classroom door locks and enhanced communication for staff will accomplish this important goal as we move forward and continue to evaluate our safety needs.  Your contribution will have a substantial impact on our program, enhancing the safety and security measures we have in place.
