Meals on Wheels of Ramsey County Program Support

When the world shut down in March 2020, Meals on Wheels of Ramsey County responded by ramping up. It was immediately clear that the need for nutritious home-delivered meals for seniors and other homebound individuals was going to be higher than ever. Meals on Wheels sites worked collaboratively through the Senior Services Consortium of Ramsey County network and with our other community partners to meet the ever-growing demand for home-delivered prepared meals to those in need. All Ramsey County meal sites saw a significant increase in clients and meals served during the pandemic. 

As we look ahead to winter 2022/2023, things are looking better on the Covid front. However, we can't say the same for funding for Meals on Wheels as funding for emergency meals has dried up. We continue to hear from clients who cannot afford to pay for their meals but funding is tight. Sites across the County are working harder than ever to ensure that anyone who needs nutritious meals can get them, regardless of their ability to pay. 

With pandemic/emergency funding for meals disappearing, in 2022 we are in need of continued financial support. We receive inquiries every day from the community asking how they can help. At this time, the best way to help Meals on Wheels in Ramsey County is to donate. We thank you for your consideration and support!
