Celebrating 50 Years of Meals on Wheels in Ramsey County!

For five decades, Meals on Wheels of Ramsey County, coordinated by Senior Services of Ramsey County, has helped older adults and people with disabilities live safely and independently in their own homes. Our network of seven community organizations and school districts continues to deliver nutritious meals, daily connection, and peace of mind to families across the county and beyond.

Nutritious Meals, Made Locally — With Options for Every Need

Residents can choose:

  • Daily hot meal delivery, or

  • Weekly delivery of a wide variety of freshly prepared frozen meals

All meals are made locally in the Twin Cities Meals on Wheels kitchens and include:

  • Special diets: gluten-free, dairy-free, renal, vegetarian

  • Cultural options: Kosher, Halal, Hmong, Mexican, Asian-Inspired, and Latino-Inspired

  • 96% of clients rated their meals good or excellent in 2024.

More Than a Meal: A Lifeline of Connection

For many, the daily visit from a volunteer or staff member is as meaningful as the meal itself. These friendly check-ins create:

  • A vital safety net

  • Social connection for those who live alone

  • Comfort for families who know their loved one is cared for

Strengthening the Community Together

Our Consortium provides shared training, resources, funding, and best practices that allow all member agencies to stretch limited resources and reach more people in need.

We also publish a free annual Ramsey County Senior Resource Directory with nonprofits and public services offered at no cost or on a sliding fee scale. Access it here: www.mealsonwheels-rc.org/resource-directory

Your Support Matters

Most of the people we serve live on very limited incomes—and many live alone. Volunteers and donors make it possible for us to provide meals regardless of someone’s ability to pay.

Your gift today helps ensure Meals on Wheels remains strong for the next 50 years.
