The Minnesota Transportation Museum needs your support to restore our historic trains and buildings.

$2,935

raised by 19 people

$50,000 goal

The Minnesota Transportation Museum restores, preserves, and offers experiences in vintage railroading, particularly as it relates to the history and development of Minnesota, its economic, social structure, and people. It is a rich and important history!

With the hard work of several hundred volunteer workers, we operate the historic Jackson Street Roundhouse in St. Paul (as a still operating roundhouse), the Osceola & St. Croix Valley Railway, and the Minnehaha Depot in Minneapolis.

Your support will help to restore the roundhouse, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is in dire need of a nearly $5 million new roof. You can also help us to restore scarce and rapidly disappearing railroad coaches and equipment, allowing 21st century historians, fans and families to ride for an amazing experience.

This year you can also help us with the $500,000 cost of bringing the historic Justus Ramsey House to the roundhouse grounds and preserving this historic piece of St. Paul history.

We also invite you to join us a volunteer. Put your passions and experience to work in restoration, administration, or on a train operating crew. It is tremendous fun and offers great satisfaction.
