2021/2022: PRESENTING ORIGINAL, BREAKTHROUGH WORK

Throughout this pandemic era Off-Leash Area has persevered and found ways to safely continue its mission:

  • We successfully launched our Off-Kilter program, supporting seven artists with disabilities and their captivating takes on the theme “Organ Recital”, in a multidisciplinary, cabaret-style production.
  • We presented two world premieres, Mulier Dierum (2021), a gorgeous dance and choral work celebrating the power of generations of women, performed outdoors and under the stars at Caponi Art Park, and Minotaur (2022), a mask and dance performance powered by a gender-diverse, multi-generational, and fiery cast, exploring the possibilities laid bare by the metaphorical beheading of the patriarchy.

For 2023: REIMAGINING COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Despite the challenging times, Off-Leash Area has found innovative ways to continue its programming, and offer even more opportunities to foster growth and creativity to artists and audiences with disabilities.

Off-Leash Area brings back the Off-Kilter Cabaret program - a community program of performances, mentorships, and leadership opportunities - to support artists with disabilities on stage and in program leadership.

Off-Leash Area will re-launch the popular Neighborhood Garage Tour, expanded to support and connect with more persons with disabilities in neighborhoods and garages across the Twin Cities metro.

Off-Leash Area will remount its 2021 MainStage Production, Mulier Dierum, originally presented outdoors and under the stars at Caponi Art Park. We will produce the show with its original vision, indoors at a local theater space and featuring live an entire  choral ensemble.

YOUR STARRING ROLE

Your participation is vital!

It takes $500 a month to sustain our small organization, maintaining the day-to-day administrative and creative work that makes our ambitious projects and programming possible.

PLEASE CONSIDER BECOMING A MONTHLY SUSTAINER!!

Your generous contribution, in whatever amount is meaningful to you, will ensure that we can continue to pay artists, offer resources, and provide a solid foundation for the exciting programming you expect from us, all while remaining flexible and sustainable.

There is light ahead, and your 2022 GiveMN investment in Off-Leash Area's 2023 programming will guide our way.

Thank you! - Jennifer Ilse & Paul Herwig
