Off-Leash Area is thriving, growing, and moving forward.

Off-Leash Area’s mission is to create and present original cross-disciplinary and risk-taking productions and programming throughout the Twin Cities metro area, nurturing independent, often marginalized artists at all points in their careers. We are a small, veteran, and independent company - among the most well regarded and awarded in the Twin Cities - that has enriched our local community and nurtured independent voices within the performing arts for nearly a quarter century.

With 30 original productions earning numerous awards, and widespread recognition for our innovative community programs - The Neighborhood Garage Tour, providing access to the arts for underserved communities, the Off-Kilter program supporting artists with disabilities - Off-Leash Area has greeted each new year with optimism, enthusiasm, and endless creativity.

For 2024: REIMAGINING COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Despite the challenging times, Off-Leash Area has found innovative ways to continue its programming, and offer even more opportunities to foster growth and creativity to artists and audiences with disabilities.

Off-Leash Area brings back the Off-Kilter Cabaret program - a community program of performances, mentorships, and leadership opportunities - to support artists with disabilities on stage and in program leadership.

Off-Leash Area has re-launched the popular Neighborhood Garage Tour, expanded to support and connect with more persons with disabilities and in neighborhoods and garages across the Twin Cities metro.

Off-Leash Area is also committed to integrating all abilities into its programming and productions, and we are continuing to nurture this in our current and upcoming work.
