Mile in My Shoes is a worthy cause, like many non-profits and families, this year has been financially and emotionally challenging. Despite those challenges, our members, mentors, and staff continue to cheer on each other as we set and reach hard goals.

This year, I saw Darla, who returned to incarceration in late 2023, but stayed connected to MIMS and trained inside, emerge on the outside, on September 2 and run her first half-marathon on September 7. It was an INCREDIBLE day to see her achieve a goal she had set for herself 2+ years ago!

I also witnessed Andre, who I met when I taught inside MCF-Lino Lakes, run his first City of Lakes half marathon and first Twin Cities marathon! He chose his re-entry location based on the opportunity to be connected to Mile in My Shoes, as he knew it would help his transition. Then he enjoyed all the vibes, fun, and inspiration of MIMS and the cheer squad at these pivotal moments.

Because of these moments all of us have been changed for the better! Mile in My Shoes is a place that is making the world better across differences. Help us continue to cheer others on as they build confidence, find stability, and bring out our humanity!

What do you get if you donate?

$25: Vote on which cheerleading pose will be on this year's family holiday card!

$50: An assortment of homemade holiday treats delivered to your house, plus a vote on the cheerleading pose!

$100: Me (& hopefully (for your sake!) some other folks) singing on your doorstep (or on a video) your favorite holiday song (or any song), plus homemade holiday treats and a vote on the cheerleading pose.

If I reach my goal of 15 donors and/or $1000 - I'll send each of you the video of the making of the holiday card!
