ABOUT US

PCs for People is dedicated to providing low-cost computers, affordable internet, and digital literacy education for income-qualified individuals and families. We strongly believe that owning a personal home computer and having access to reliable internet is no longer a luxury, but rather a basic need in the 21st century. The COVID-19 pandemic has made this true now more than ever, with a computer and internet being made essential to access education, job opportunities, healthcare, social services, and so much more.

In 2021, PCs for People distributed 53,000 devices and connected 19,000 homes to the internet (43% of which did not have home internet access at the time of purchase), impacting a total of 157,000 individuals, including 75,000 children, nationwide.

PCs for People’s model contributes to environmental sustainability by intercepting usable computers before they reach landfills and refurbishing them for reuse. In 2021, 77,000 computers were donated from partner corporations, government agencies, businesses, and individuals, helping make our work possible. Businesses typically retire computers long before their usable life is over and this has contributed to America becoming the largest producer of electronic waste in the world. We offer businesses a certified secure electronic recycling service.

Help us to keep making in impact and bridge the digital divide!
