The Moving Company and its artists - Artistic Directors Dominique Serrand and Steven Epp, Producing Artistic Director Nathan Keepers have a long history, not only with each other, but with the theatre community in Minneapolis and around the country. Our work is enriched by the shared vocabulary and shared history of its creators. This history gives us a strong foundation and proven track record of extraordinary work that’s been seen both locally and nationally.
Over many years, The Moving Company has created and performed a number of new productions, including Come Hell and High Water; Out of the Pan Into the Fire; Werther and Lotte; The Imaginary Invalid; All's Fair; For Sale; Every Sentence Is For The Birds; Liberty Falls, 54321; Refugia (produced and presented by The Guthrie); SPEECHLESS (Star Trib Best show of the decade, 2019); The 4 Seasons; The Prodigious Life of Clara S and Immortal Beethoven (created in special collaboration with the Minnesota Orchestra); What If; ANAMNESIS; The Little Prince (produced by The Guthrie) We have toured our productions of Love's Labour's Lost (Actor's Theatre of Louisville) and Tartuffe (South Coast Rep, Berkeley Rep and The Shakepeare Theatre in Washington, DC). The company has also been in residence at universities and colleges locally and nationally including, Gustavus Adolphus, Stanford, University of Texas, Austin and the University of Iowa.
Dominique Serrand, Steven Epp and Nathan Keepers are all formerly of Theatre de la Jeune Lune. Serrand as founder and Artistic Director, Epp as Artistic Director and Keepers joining as a longtime company member. Their collaborations between the three have spanned over 70 productions. Jeune Lune, based in Minneapolis from 1978-2008, was internationally recognized as influential and visionary. They received the 2005 Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre Company.
