ORLANDO: A Rhapsody, by Vinora Epp & Steven Epp

ORLANDO: A Rhapsody is a shared reverie, just as much as it is a quarrel, between two generations and two experiences of art and of life.

Two actors, father and daughter, tell their own story through the words of Virginia Woolf, composing an alternately fanciful, visceral, vulnerable duet. Like two children putting on a play—or two artists in rehearsal together. All the while, they unearth and wrestle with existential questions: what it means to be and why we tell stories.

After rehearsing in both the US and France, ORLANDO: A Rhapsody premiered at The Tank NYC in April 2024. In 2025, we performed at The Southern Theater in Minneapolis, and at Paradise Factory Theater in New York City. We received rave reviews from local press. 750 people saw our work, engaged with it, and stuck around to talk about it afterwards. Our understanding of the story deepened, our performances were enlivened. We feel deep gratitude for every audience member that came to see us, and for every donation that made all of this possible. 

The next step we have in mind is to tour ORLANDO: A Rhapsody to France, where Vinora lives, and where Steve has always found inspiration. 

Orlando’s new chapter is already beginning to be written: talks are underway, and we are hoping to be abroad by 2027. This will entail transporting our costumes, props, and Steve overseas, and adapting the show with French surtitles— for this, we need your help.
