MITY - Minnesota Institute for Talented Youth

MITY is on a mission to inspire and challenge intellectually curious students to pursue their passions within a diverse, inclusive community and empower them by building skills and relationships for lifelong success. We achieve this through unique academic enrichment programs that stimulate critical thinking, foster creativity and build confidence in today’s youth. A 2024 parent wrote, “MITY provides an opportunity for students to explore that is unmatched by any other program.”

MITY is committed to raising financial support to ensure that all talented and motivated students, regardless of ability to pay, can see a brighter future for themselves. In the past fiscal year, MITY served 1,149 students from 262 different schools. MITY’s goal is to support at least 25% of students with financial aid. Please consider giving to help more young people explore their potential!

Similarly, an alumna shared, “MITY was a life changing experience that taught me how to be self resilient, and how to work with others to achieve a common goal. It challenged me to go beyond my perceived limitations of what I could accomplish. Those lessons helped me throughout my adult life.” Another alum wrote, “MITY changed my life. I have never felt so productive and happy.”

100% of your donation goes toward scholarships for students to cover our unique programming. Here’s what your donation can cover:

• MITY Elementary (grades 1-4): $170 for weekend program (Fall, Winter & Spring Sessions), $450 for full-day summer programs, $225 for half-day summer programs
• MITY Middle School (grades 5-7): $855 for a full-day, 2-week summer program, $465 for a half-day summer program
• MITY High School (grades 8-11): $855 for a full-day, 2-week commuter program, $2,150 for a 2-week residential program 

MITY High School students also get to experience college life at Macalester College. They learn in state-of-the-art spaces, enjoy the campus, and even stay in dorms if they choose.
