Let's Smile, Inc. is an extraordinary non-profit organization that has been making a significant impact since 2013. Through our innovative approach, we provide essential Oral Health Education and Clinical Preventive Dental Services in unconventional settings such as mobile dentistry units and community-based clinics. 

Our dedication and commitment to improving oral health have positively transformed countless lives. 

Let’s Smile, Inc.’s purpose is to change lives by improving access to oral health care, increase oral health literacy, and raise awareness about the importance of oral health’s impact on overall health, especially to those most vulnerable.

 There’s a difference between “dental care” and oral health. For many people, dental care is about fillings or other treatments. Let’s Smile, Inc. raises oral health to its rightful place within overall health by shifting the focus to preventing disease before it begins.  

Let's Smile, Inc. outreaches to daycare centers, preschools, schools, and community organizations.  We provide care for children and teens up to age 19.

ORAL HEALTH EDUCATION: 

Let's Smile, Inc. promotes and educates about the importance of maintaining a healthy mouth through brushing, flossing, using fluoride, and regular dental visits through age-appropriate presentations.

Presentations focus on helping children and adolescents identify the ways they can improve their oral health (brushing twice a day, flossing daily, seeing a dental professional twice a year, eating foods that promote oral health, etc.). Imparting this knowledge to youth is critical in the goal of maintaining healthy, happy smiles for the youth in our community. 

CLINICAL PREVENTIVE DENTAL SERVICES:

Let’s Smile, Inc.’s services align with the Minnesota Child and Teen Checkup standards.

Let's Smile, Inc. increases access to clinical preventive dental professional services to children & teens with State/County Insurance: Minnesota Health Care Plans (MHCP) such as MA, South Country Health Alliance, Blue Plus, UCare, or uninsured.  If a patient is covered by private dental insurance or additional/supplemental health insurance plans, we request they use another office.

1. Basic Screening: assess for broken enamel on teeth, detect infections in gum tissues, check for oral cancer, inspect for the proper development of teeth, and report any signs of abuse or neglect 
2. Dental prophylaxis: removal of oral plaque, calculus, stains, and bacteria that cause cavities and oral infections 
3. Fluoride varnish treatment: strengthens the enamel of teeth to prevent cavities 
4. Sealants: when applied to chewing surfaces of molars, help to prevent cavities 
5. Oral Hygiene Instructions
6. Take-home bags: include toothbrush, floss, and toothpaste for each child; take-home fluoride rinse or anti-bacterial rinse will be provided as indicated by basic screening
7. Post-visit follow-up: evaluation, advisement, and documentation of untreated dental decay and/or concerns to parent/guardian and the school nurse or social worker if requested 
8. Referrals: directly referred to general dentist or dental specialist as needed
