We believe people in need should not live in hunger.

Groveland Food Shelf has been providing emergency groceries for those in need in the Stevens Square neighborhood of Minneapolis since the mid-1970s. We currently serve over 200 people most weekdays as a low barrier food shelf - all are welcome, no appointments, no proof of income, guests pick the food they want from what we have. Each month we distribute over 150,000 pounds of food. (UPDATE: Jan 2026 - During the current crisis we are rescuing all the food we can and buying more food than normal, then donating a lot of it to local grass roots groups that are doing home delivery for folks all over Minneapolis and St. Paul. We have donated over 500,000 pounds so far...)
