This year, Family Service Rochester proudly celebrates 60 years of solutions — six decades of strengthening families, supporting mental health, empowering seniors, and ensuring stability for children and families in our community.

Each year, over 5,000 lives are touched through our programs. From Meals on Wheels and mental health services to our Family Resource Center, FSR continues to be there for everyone, regardless of insurance or ability to pay, thanks to our sliding fee scale and the generosity of donors like you.

As we mark this milestone year, we’re setting a Give to the Max goal of $10,000 to help keep essential services accessible for all. Your gift today ensures that we can continue meeting growing community needs well into the next 60 years.

$60 can provide a week of Meals on Wheels deliveries

OUR HISTORY and MISSION and WHY Support for Family Service Rocester
Family Service Rochester was founded in 1965 as a nonprofit organization with a staff of three and the mission to support and enhance the dignity and quality of life for individuals and families in our community. Today, Family Service Rochester provides more than 30 programs across 12 different counties. Our staff of over 150 along with 600 + volunteers provides a wide range of services addressing mental health, child-wellbeing, family stability, and senior independence. 

We listen to what people need and together, we build better lives.  

For nearly 60 years we have evolved and changed to meet the needs of this community.  We have been trusted by our employees, staff, volunteers, donors and community to help find solutions to peoples situations.  We do not do for a person, rather we work alongside them to help them and support them how they wish to be supported.  

What sets us apart is our commitment to inclusivity, ensuring everyone has access to the services they need, regardless of financial barriers. This holistic approach allows us to address the root causes of issues, not just the symptoms, making us uniquely qualified to drive lasting change.  Our team of  professionals, trained volunteers, and committed staff are equipped to provide trauma-informed, strengths-based care that meets individuals where they are.
