Mission

The Damiano Center mission is: with respect and compassion, we honor the dignity of all people and strengthen our community by providing essential services to individuals and families who are in need. 

Programs

COMMUNITY KITCHEN - Open for 15 meals to anyone who is hungry, no questions asked.

Continental breakfast 8:30 am – 9:30 am Daily
Lunch 11:30 am – 1 pm- Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat, & Sun
Dinner 5 pm – 6 pm- Fri, Sat, & Sun

FREE STORE - Provides free clothing and household goods to people in need. The largest free clothing store in Duluth.  Open Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 9am-3pm. 

COMMUNITY SERVICES - Crisis intervention and assisted information and referral. Hygiene, bus tokens, limited number of gas vouchers and bus cards available with met verification monthly. Household items given out to guests with new leases. Open Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 9am-3pm.

HYGIENE UNIT - Provides free a free shower &/or restroom to anyone in need. Operates Monday through Friday 9 am – 3 pm from April-October.

CLOTHES THAT WORK - Work appropriate attire for people in search of employment or currently employed. Operates Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 9am-3pm. 

KIDS' KITCHEN - After school and summer time meal program for children ages 6 - 17. Free on-site meals with nutrition education and fun and enriching activities. Open Mon-Thurs 2:30-5:30pm.

SUMMER FOOD CORPS - Summer employment program for youth focusing on gardening, food service, nutrition, and leading activities with younger children.

HEALTH REALIZATION - Cognitive skill-building program that helps people understand their barriers and work to overcome them. Offering a women's only group and a co-ed group.
