Different Paths. Common Ground.

Every Corpsmember finds their way to Conservation Corps Minnesota & Iowa (CCMI) by a different road. Some join right after high school. Others come after college, a career change, or a few years of figuring out what’s next. Some grew up on the water or in the woods; others are spending their first night in a tent.

What they share is the work and the ground beneath their boots.

Over the past five years, more than 1,800 youth and young adults serving with CCMI have planted over a quarter of a million trees and improved 3,055 miles of trails and waterways. They’ve restored habitat, protected rivers and lakes, and responded when wildfires and other disasters struck communities across Minnesota and Iowa. If you’ve enjoyed a park, trail, or natural area in either state, you’ve likely stood on ground a Corpsmember helped care for.

Where the paths lead

A term of service with CCMI is a starting point. Corpsmembers earn a living allowance while gaining hands-on training, industry certifications, and real-world experience in conservation, natural resource management, and emergency response. They leave with skills, confidence, an AmeriCorps Education Award, and a network that opens doors to college, trades, and careers.
