For nearly 40 years, Calvary Food Shelf has been a lifeline for families across the Twin Cities. Today, that mission is more urgent than ever.
SNAP benefits are at risk, leaving many families without enough to get by. At the same time, food shelf visits hit nearly 9 million in 2024, up 1.4 million from 2023. One in five Minnesota households struggles to put food on the table and for households of color, that jumps to 40%.
Many of our clients are immigrant families facing additional threats and uncertainty in this political climate. For them and countless other families, our food shelf is a safe haven and a lifeline.
100% of your donation will go directly to purchasing food. Every single dollar buys groceries for families in need.
Federal support is failing. Families are frightened. Your neighbors need you. Donate now to help us meet this unprecedented crisis.
We also need volunteers to keep our operations running. Learn more and sign up.
Thank you to the Victor & Christine Anthony Family Foundation for their $10,000 matching grant, and to Wint & Tammy Boyd, a gift in memory of Larry Van Meter, and our anonymous individual donors for additional matching funds.
Food shelf visitors shop and choose their own items in our store-like space.
Calvary staff and volunteers help create a safe and welcoming environment.
We always offer a variety of fresh produce.
We provide meat, milk, eggs, butter, as well as other protein and dairy products.
