Feeding Horses in Need

🐴 Help Feed Minnesota Horses in Need this Winter! ❄️ The Minnesota Horse Welfare Coalition offers micro-grants to responsible horse owners who need help taking care of their horses. Our mission is to keep horses safe. This means making sure horses have adequate feed, especially in the winter when their nutrition needs increase. When a horse owner fall on hard times, the Minnesota Horse Welfare Coalition is a vital resource for responsible horse owners who need assistance. This fundraiser is focused solely on raising money to feed horses in need this winter. 

The National Weather Service is predicting lower-than-normal temperatures this winter.  Horses generate vital body heat through digestion, meaning they need significantly more hay and feed to survive the freezing temperatures. We are raising funds to help responsible horse owners provide their horses the needed nourishment necessary to endure the cold months ahead. We carefully vet all applications for feed assistance, ensuring that your donations are put to proper use. What's more, the Minnesota Horse Welfare Coalition has several member organizations that are rescues and sanctuaries for horses who have been abandoned, neglected or abused. These critical funds will also help vetted rescues to help them help more horses.
