At North News, we’re more than a newspaper. We are a grassroots print and digital news source and a youth journalism training program embedded in the heart of North Minneapolis.

• Narrative change. Too often the story of Northside neighborhoods is reduced to one of crime, poverty or blight. North News is on a mission to dig deeper, to uncover the rich, nuanced truths of the 14 neighborhoods we serve—so the broader Twin Cities community understands that this place is defined by far more than its challenges. 
• Youth empowerment. Our internship programs and journalism classes turn local high school students into storytellers, giving them voice, skills, and the opportunity to shape their community’s narrative. 
• Community connection. With a monthly print circulation of 10,000 distributed across more than 400 public drop-sites and home subscriptions, and active digital/social coverage, we bring residents together through stories that matter.

Location & Hours:

While North News primarily publishes monthly and online, its organizational operations are based in North Minneapolis at the ‎Oak Park Community Center. (If you plan a visit or drop-by, please call ahead for current hours.)
