Fuel the Future: Invest in Literacy Leaders
Literacy Minnesota's AmeriCorps initiatives include two National Service programs: Literacy for All and Digital Literacy. AmeriCorps members create and implement sustainable programming in four states, including Minnesota.
For completing a year of full-time service, AmeriCorps members receive professional development, a modest living allowance and an Education Award.
Will you fill the pot and fuel the future?
AmeriCorps funding is not enough to support our full program expenses. What's more, Literacy Leaders are considered part of the federal workforce.
As a result, members went unpaid during the government shutdown, and funding concerns are ongoing.
Your contribution helps fill our shared table with learning and stability for all:
💪 $25 boosts our efforts to recruit a strong, diverse service corps.
🏠 $100 helps Literacy Leaders with housing-related expenses and funds to help with emergencies.
✅ $250 contributes to specialized training and professional development.
What do Literacy Leaders do?
- Design new programming.
- Engage volunteers.
- Strengthen community partnerships and resources.
The groundwork Literacy Leaders lay allows community members to gain foundational literacy and digital literacy skills to succeed in school and the workforce.
Literacy Leaders themselves often go on to careers in education and community development.
