Will you help us build roads to literacy?
Literacy is so much more than learning to read and write. Literacy – the ability to navigate systems and symbols – gets you where you want to go.
That's why we're here: to build those roads. The interconnected “roadways” to literacy help our friends and neighbors achieve success in school, support their families and fulfill their self-determined goals.
Together, we’ll help kids learn their ABCs and adults – U.S. born citizens, immigrants and refugees – learn English, earn their GED and develop technology and job skills. We’ll also help 450 organizations across Minnesota improve their literacy programming and reach. We’ll train thousands of volunteers annually to support and connect with their community. And we’ll advocate to protect literacy programs and the communities they uplift.
Literacy Minnesota is recognized as a local and national leader and a driving force behind the latest developments in literacy learning. Our strong roots in the state of Minnesota bolster our broader educational leadership. Your gift to Literacy Minnesota supports transformative literacy for all.
Watch the two-minute video above for more on the roads that literacy builds, and to see just a few of the people your support helps us reach!

This Give to the Max Day, in addition to your support of Literacy Minnesota, we invite you to consider donating to nonprofit causes close to your heart led by individuals who identify as Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC). A recent study outlines disparities. You can find a list of organizations by visiting givemn.org/search and selecting “BIPOC Led” from the filters.
