myTalk 107.1 Food for Families Food Drive
Your gift today can double in impact! Every $1 given between November 1 - 21 can go twice as far to provide 6 meals for neighbors facing hunger thanks to generous sponsors.
myTalk 107.1's Food for Families Food Drive is a two-fold approach:
1. Give right here and Second Harvest Heartland will stretch your dollars to provide meals for families in need.
2. Join us in-person for an all day food drive on Friday, November 21.
We'll broadcast live from 6am to 6pm split between two Hy-Vee locations:
Hy-Vee in New Hope
Jason & Alexis 6am - 9am
Bradley & Dawn 12pm - 3pm
Hy-Vee in Maplewood
Donna & Steve 9am - 12pm
Brittany & Kendall 3pm - 6pm
We'll have a Second Harvest Heartland truck at each location that we'll be trying to fill!
Come out and say hi at the broadcast and grab some food to help fill the truck.

Info below from Second Harvest Heartland and their mission to end hunger:
Hunger is on the rise here in our state. Too many of our fellow Minnesotans are one flat tire or medical bill away from an empty fridge. And with Thanksgiving just around the corner, more and more of our neighbors are looking to Second Harvest Heartland and their hunger-relief partners for help getting food on the table.
It’s a hard time for families right now. Food insecurity is about much more than food. Housing and energy costs are up more than 30% over pre-pandemic numbers and grocery prices remain high. Those costs of living and more all contribute to:
- Over half a million people in Minnesota facing hunger.
- Food shelf visits in 2023 up almost 2 million over 2022 —a 36% increase.
- More than 50% of people nationwide living paycheck to paycheck.
- Household food budgets being among the first things to be cut.
Give to the Max Day—and the support provided by generous friends like you—plays a huge part in making sure Second Harvest Heartland and their partners have the resources to help our neighbors get the food they need to thrive.
Let’s join together to Give for Good, and raise enough funds to provide over 2 million nourishing meals for our neighbors experiencing hunger.
