Opening Events at the Arts Center

One of our favorite traditions throughout the year is our gallery Opening Nights. These special evenings bring together participating artists, art lovers, and members of the community to celebrate creativity in all its forms. Guests are invited to enjoy the exhibited artwork, share a glass of wine, and sample a few delicious bites while mingling with the artists themselves. Beyond the wonderful atmosphere, these events also play an important role in supporting both the artists and the Maple Grove Arts Center—each artwork sold directly benefits its creator and helps sustain the Center’s mission to keep the arts thriving in our community.

2025 has been a year of both triumphs and challenges for Maple Grove Arts Center, filled with highs and lows, and a few "normal" days in between!

It was the year our long-awaited dream of moving into a new Community Center space began to take shape. While we’ll still be waiting a few years for the space to be completed, we’re confident it will be well worth the wait—more details on that early next year!

On the flip side, 2025 also brought the bittersweet farewell to our beloved space at The Fountains in Maple Grove. Kimco, our landlord, found a paying tenant, which meant the end of our seven incredible years there. During that time, we hosted over 50 curated shows and hundreds of classes, making it a second home for so many. Although it was always part of the agreement, the news still hit us hard. Most of June was spent packing up our belongings while scrambling to find a new space. Time was not on our side.

Then, just one week before our departure date, we got the call from the City of Maple Grove: a potential space in the Grove Square area was available. You’ve never seen two people move so quickly to check it out!

We then dove into a whirlwind week of negotiating a temporary lease. Contracts flew back and forth, insurance was arranged, and we even had to adjust our moving schedule. But, against all odds, we pulled it off in just seven days—a smooth transition from space A to space B.

Next, we rolled up our sleeves and spent three weeks renovating our new space. Drywall repairs, sanding, painting, floor replacements, scouring for second-hand furniture, and then arranging everything just so—it was all hands on deck. Thanks to the hard work of our incredible volunteers, we turned the space into something that’s not only functional but also beautiful.

We’re incredibly grateful to our new landlord for helping keep the dream alive while we patiently wait for the Community Center space to be ready.

We’d love for you to visit us at 13617 Grove Drive—whether it’s to see a show, enjoy a cup of coffee, or just chat about art and the impact it has on our community. We can’t wait to connect with you and continue building something special together!
