Thanksgiving Gift

Here is a snapshot of the community you are supporting:

Recently, the pastor overheard a church  neighbor describing Judson Church to  someone else from the neighborhood.  But the one describing Judson Church couldn’t remember our name so they said instead, “The Kingfield Community Center with a church in it.”  We are transforming into a church for the Kingfield neighborhood, Minneapolis, and the Twin Cities community.  

Last year we hosted Empty Bowls for the third year in a row.  This past year it was an amazing success: over 500 people attended, raising over $15,000 to provide housing and mental health counseling to formerly homeless youth.  Judson continues to house Meals on Wheels as a ministry (we provide dedicated space and our kitchen at no cost), enabling 75 volunteers to deliver over 700 meals each week to 125 clients in south Minneapolis.  

We were present at Golden Valley Pride festival.  We helped start the Tunnel of Love a “tunnel” of people lining Lyndale Avenue in support of the students and families at Annunciation School.  We started Moral Mondays, a protest on the corner of Lyndale Avenue and 40th Street where Judson members and neighbors gather every Monday from 4:30-5:30pm to protest the immoral policies of the current administration. 

Judson Church turns 116 this year.. Each week there are new visitors, each week we are making new connections in the community, each week we are challenging one another to live out our core values of hospitality, social justice, deep spirituality, and joy. On average between 750-1,000 people walk through Judson Church doors each week, only a quarter of those are for Judson Church specific activities. Each day it feels more and more like a community center with a church in it!
