This Give to the Max Day, we’re asking you to help strengthen the heart of healing at the Invisible Wounds Project. Our goal is to raise $20,000 to complete two essential upgrades to our Support Center: a remodeled kitchen and a dedicated workout/wellness space. These additions will expand the ways we support the military, police, fire, EMS, frontline medical staff, corrections officers, 911 dispatchers, and families who walk through our doors every single week.
The IWP Support Center isn’t just a building—it’s a lifeline and a community. It’s a place where those who have spent their careers protecting others finally have a space built to protect them. More than 100 people visit us each week, and what they find here is unlike anything else in Minnesota.
The Support Center is full of energy, creativity, and connection. Our woodshop gives people a hands-on outlet to work through stress, learn new skills, and rediscover purpose. Many of the veterans and first responders we serve have told us how the woodshop became the first place they felt calm in years.
Our art studio—filled with painting, ceramics, drawing, and other expressive tools—has become a sanctuary for processing emotions that don’t always fit into words. It’s a place where laughter returns, friendships form, and healing takes shape in colors, textures, and shared experiences.
Across every corner of the Support Center, a genuine community has taken root. People who once felt isolated now have a place where they are understood—where they can grab a cup of coffee, take a class, work on a project, or simply sit and breathe without judgment. The culture of connection here is powerful. It has become the foundation that helps countless individuals take their first steps toward stability and hope.
And while we partner with therapists and offer access to mental health support, what truly sets IWP apart is our ability to respond immediately when someone is in crisis. We now provide 3–4 suicide or crisis interventions every single week, offering immediate safety, connection, and support. Our drop-in therapy services ensure that when someone needs a calming presence, a grounding conversation, or a quick touchpoint to prevent a spiral, they can receive it that same day. No waiting. No barriers. No being told to “come back in two weeks.”
These new spaces are crucial to continuing this work.
A remodeled kitchen will allow us to strengthen the heart of our community—bringing people together for meals, group gatherings, support groups, and family nights. Sharing food builds trust, connection, and belonging, especially for those who haven’t felt part of anything in a long time.
A dedicated workout and wellness space will give our heroes a private, supportive environment to move, de-stress, strengthen their bodies, and rebuild their confidence. Physical wellness is one of the most powerful tools for mental well-being, especially for those living with trauma.
Your gift this Give to the Max Day directly builds the spaces where healing happens—not in a clinical setting, but in a community built on compassion, creativity, and connection.
Please help us reach our $20,000 goal and continue providing a support system that saves lives, restores hope, and brings people together when they need it most.
Together, we can keep building the place where invisible wounds begin to heal.
