Micro-grants

Purpose: We are providing small, unconditional financial gifts to underrepresented community members to help meet basic needs, reduce barriers, and foster dignity, trust, and healing.

Core Principles:

• Equity First: Prioritize individuals from historically marginalized or underrepresented groups. 
• Dignity & Trust: Avoid invasive application processes; trust recipients to know their own needs. 
• Transparency: Clearly communicate how decisions are made, and funds are distributed. 
• Community-Centered: Engage community voices in shaping and refining the program.

Eligibility:

• Resident of the local community or surrounding area.
• Priority given to an underrepresented group (e.g., BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled, low-income, formerly incarcerated, etc.).
• Experiencing financial hardship or unmet basic needs (housing, food, healthcare, transportation, etc.). No requirement for repayment or proof of spending.

Application Process:

• Simple Form: Name, contact info, brief description of need (optional).
• Nomination Option: Community members can nominate others.
• No Documentation Required: Avoid requiring pay stubs, bills, or personal records.
• Community Review Panel: Include diverse voices from the community.
• Funds delivered via cash, prepaid cards, checks, or direct payment to company owed.
• Option for anonymous gifting to protect privacy.
