For sixty years, Minnesota Ballet has brought world-class dance to the Northland. What began in Duluth in 1965 has grown into Minnesota’s largest professional dance company and a creative home where generations have discovered the joy, discipline, and wonder of ballet.

Today, that legacy is guided by Artistic Executive Director Karl von Rabenau, who first walked through our doors as a young student at Minnesota Ballet Academy. His journey — from local kid in tights to professional dancer, educator, and now Artistic Executive Director — embodies the Ballet’s impact. We don’t just train dancers. We nurture potential, ignite confidence, and build futures.

• A professional company presenting powerful, moving productions that attract audiences from across the region.

• Minnesota Ballet Academy, providing best-in-class instruction for students of all ages, rooted in professionalism, artistry, and care.

• Studio Four, the Ballet’s hybrid studio and intimate performance venue. When not in use for the Ballet’s own smaller productions, Studio Four is offered at low rent to local nonprofits and arts organizations — supporting emerging artists and strengthening Duluth’s creative ecosystem.

• The A.B.L.E. Program, Minnesota Ballet’s adaptive ballet and movement initiative, serving dancers of all abilities for more than three decades. As one of the region’s longest-running inclusive dance programs, A.B.L.E. is grounded in deep expertise, thoughtful pedagogy, and a long-standing commitment to making dance accessible to every body.
