Hi! I'm Julia and I'm the Community Engagement Manager at Northern Clay Center. I've always been invested in supporting my community in creative & engaging ways. I've worked as a preschool teacher, case manager and baker — work that's rooted in caring for my community and making the world we exist in a better place.

In these uncertain times, the power of art and community continues to shine— reminding us that art is, indeed, essential. Research shows that people involved in arts programming experience better health and emotional well-being, maintain more of their independence as they age, participate more actively in their community, and experience greater joy in their lives.

At NCC, I help coordinate clay programming in the community through our Outreach programs - ClayToGo and ART@HAND, as well as private parties . We bring clay to all of the stages of life — from afterschool classes at elementary schools to community organizations serving older youth and adults and ending in elder care facilities, including memory care.

Your donation makes these programs possible: providing clay, tools, teaching artist time, transportation and the flexibility to adapt to diverse settings. With your help, we can provide these essential programs, ensuring that every person—young or old, well-resourced or not, emerging artist or experiences—has access to the power of making with clay.
