The 45 hour information portion of this fundraiser has officially ended!  Thank you to all who checked us out on Facebook, and/or donated.  We appreciate you!

And the fundraising continues!

First, many donors are sending in checks.  That takes some time to get to us.  We will keep posting goal updates until all donations we know about have arrived.

Second, we have been told that one of those checks is large.  We want enough donations so that the large donation can double what has already been given.  So if you haven't donated yet - ok to do it now!

Third, we are part of Give to the Max Day on November 20.  If you know someone wants to donate,  they are welcome to give to the Hope House 45-45-45 or to the Hope House Bemidji Give to the Max Day.  Both are part of our fundraising.

Finally, if you have been watching Facebook, you have probably learned a lot about us!  Boiled down, there are two points:  1. We successfully help people with long-term mental illness to regain their lives.  2. You can have a meaningful and impactful part in keeping this local, person-centered, and cost-effective help available.

For that first point, if you need mental health support, please call us.  Even if this program is not the right program or fit for you, we can help you connect to the right service.  If you are a family member seeking help as you support your loved one, also call us.  We will listen, provide resources, and help you prioritize the next steps.

For that second point, you can have a positive impact on mental health through:

a. Serving as a board member (see the application on the HopeHouseBemidji.org website, left side, Get Involved (Dazhiikan) section)

b. Serving as a volunteer (call 218-444-6748, x109) (great for BSU students!)

c. Serving on the Native American Advisory Group (meets 2-4 times a year)

d. Employment with Hope House (Call 218-444-6748, x109 or send resume' to rwold@paulbunyan.net. (Seeking people with degrees in psychology, social work, applied psychology, nursing, or certified peer support specialists)

Thank you and miigwech for your support of Hope House before this campaign, during, and beyond. Keep watching this space, and Facebook, for fundraiser updates.

You make a difference here!

How can you help a loved one who has gone through a mental health crisis? Where can you find a prescriber for your loved one’s medication, or a place for them to rebuild structure and healthy friendships?  How can you get support for yourself?  Hope House Community Support Program in Bemidji provides these services and more for adults with long-term mental illness and their families.

The community support program has been in existence in Bemidji since 1980. As a 501©3 not-for-profit organization, Hope House’ mission is to support the least restrictive setting for clients, improve functioning to best levels, and reduce hospitalizations.  In other words, Hope House helps adults with long-term mental illness to regain their lives.

The year 2025 marks the 45th anniversary of serving adults who have long-term mental illness in Bemidji and Beltrami County.  Hope House is celebrating this milestone with a 45-45-45 fundraiser.  We are encouraging donations of $45 per person (larger or smaller amounts also welcome!) with 45 hours of Facebook fundraising and information, and celebrating 45 years of client success and accomplishments. The goal is $9,000, and we have a match after the first $750 is raised!

Beginning Wednesday, November 5th at 3 pm and ending 45 hours later on Friday, November 7th at noon, Hope House will be celebrating and fundraising.  Donations may be mailed directly to Hope House at PO Box 1097, Bemidji, MN 56619, or via PayPal, or made here through GiveMN.org. During this event, Hope House will discuss its services, client success, volunteer opportunities, board member requirements, job opportunities, funding, and other information, all posted on Facebook at Hope House Bemidji.

From reduced hospitalizations to college graduations, clients are meeting their goals with Hope House’ help.   Hope House is asking the community to show their dedication to client mental health by participating in this 45-45-45 event. Questions may be directed to Hope House at 218-444-6748, or e-mail hopehouse@paulbunyan.net.
