The Nest is what we call our workshop where the flower magic happens - taking flowers that would otherwise have been discarded and transforming them into bedside bouquets to raise the spirits of those in hospice and memory care.

Since 2018 we have been spreading joy through the gift of flowers to care communities - delivering more than 70,000 bedside bouquets.  We currently serve over 2000 residents with the gift of flowers and have outgrown our current space.  Our new space will need a number of items to enable us to increase our impact and bring joy to those whose who are lonely.

Our needs for the new space:

  • $25 will provide a flower arranging tool kit
  • $50 will provide a floor mat
  • $100 will provide a flower staging table
  • $150 will provide a flower arranging workstation
  • $800 will provide a dishwasher to wash the vases (mason jars) which are reused
  • $2,000 will add a hospice community to our program
  • $5,000 will add a memory care facility to our program

Bluebirds & Blooms provides monthly bouquets to over 2000 residents across 62 communities spanning 19 cities in the Twin Cities metro area. We are proud of our commitment to sustainability, with all flowers donated by generous floral providers and individuals. Our dedicated team of over 100 volunteers contribute more than 450 hours monthly to collect, arrange, and deliver these heartfelt bouquets. Embracing eco-friendly practices, we utilize recycled jars and tin cans as vases and generate over 12,000 pounds of compost annually.

While we have doubled our reach over the past three years, there remains a pressing need to serve more of our community with nearly 600 memory care communities and over 100 hospice care communities in Minnesota.

Your support will enable more isolated seniors to experience the transformative power of flowers and connection!
