Unlock potential –transform lives! The Youth Advancement Program (YAP) is on a mission to empower 60 vulnerable and unemployed youths aged 15 to 25. Through a dynamic 12-month program, YAP boosts self-esteem, employability, and economic independence. Participants dive into life skills, personal development, and educational upgrades in Math and English.

This transformative journey unfolds in these components:

1. Life Skills Immersion: A six-month deep dive at Marion House to empower and inspire, building unshakable self-esteem.

2. Parent and Mentor Collaboration: Ensuring parents and mentors understand their vital roles throughout the training process, bridging the gap between institution and community.

3. Community Service: Paying it forward through volunteerism, giving back to their communities at no cost to the participants.

4. Skills Training: Focused on in-demand market skills for sustainability and success.

5. Hands-On Apprenticeship: The finale! A real-world experience in the corporate sector, paving the way to employability.

Help us supplement UNESCO's generous funding collaboration with Marion House.

The program runs three days a week, with participants forming in-house groups like the "Ambitious Squad" and "Money Makers," fostering teamwork and socialization.

Exciting update! Most youths have completed practical skills, with some already immersed in hands-on apprenticeships. From Electrical Installation to Bartending, these youths are shaping their futures at Camden Park and Kingstown Technical Institutes.

But we need your support to keep this transformative journey alive! Join us in unlocking potential and creating a brighter future for these youth. Together, we can make a lasting impact!

Marion House also continues its other programs:

  1. Counseling Services: individual, couple, family, group.
  2. Young Parent Empowerment Programme (YPEP) for parents that “walk-in” or are referred,
  3. The “Right Step” Programme for substance abusers,

The YPEP aims to improve the parenting skills of young parents by building their individual and collective capacities, self-esteem, and self-confidence through the application of a variety of methodologies, thus ensuring more control over their social situations.

The “Right Step” Programme aims at the creation and maintenance of an intervention and support group of substance abusers and users, as well as those vulnerable to substance abuse, encouraging a healthy lifestyle and eating habits through the provision of a safe environment for participating and expressing themselves, in lively discussions thus enabling sponsorship and mentorship.
